Thicket of the Jordan

So much fear and uncertainty within me with regards to the upcoming retreat.
My first solo trip, and only received news recently from MFA that there's recent terrorist concern in Mindanao. Yet I know this place is where my heart desires to go, and is where you're leading me to..

Only speak that I may listen;
only lead where You will go.

The Lord’s my banner and rearguard,
With Whom my courage shall flow.

He is quick to beckon,
Shall my feet be slow?

Of my fears and darkened nights,
Only He will know.

Jeremiah 12:5
“If you have raced with men on foot, and they have wearied you,
how will you compete with horses?
And if in a safe land you are so trusting,
what will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?”

What are the petty troubles that fall on him compared with what others suffer, with what might come on himself?

Nehemiah 4:14
And I looked and arose and said to the nobles and to the officials and to the rest of the people, “Do not be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons, your daughters, your wives, and your homes.”

Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, do not be dismayed. For the lord your god is with you wherever you go.

I have surely seen the affliction of my people in Egypt and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, and I am concerned about their suffering.

I am with you.

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43:2

Do you have the peace to stay in Singapore? Whilst knowing that the Lord has spoken and led you thus far?
If you only learn to trust in a safe land, what will you do in the thickets of the Jordan?

A Christian doesn’t get caught up with himself and his own preparation and service that he’s blinded to the needs of others around him. Neither is it about meeting those needs to gain the notice of Christ. A Christian doesn’t do something out of the ‘awareness and instruction of Christ’, but out of a heart of compassion and love for others.

“Should I fear getting myself spent for God and losing everything that I hide my talents in the ground, only to rake them up again upon my Master’s return? Shall fear overcome the quiet resolve of faithfulness?
Keep my love for You authentic and alive in the way it fuels my love for others.

The world sees only the capabilities, achievements and outer appearance, but let me see people as vessels, fearfully and wonderfully made, created in the image of God.

One of life’s greatest joys to me is to know what God wants me to do, and to be able to unreservedly and completely give myself to it. I can no longer live without being occasionally reminded of God’s heart for the world, regardless of race or culture or social status. God’s purpose for the whole world to hear His name would not be thwarted.
