Blessings
Some blessings to thank God for, Cheryl manage to know what she wants in life!
though she didnt do well for her A levels, but i believe grades is not everything and i'm happy she finally pull herself up and going to pursue her dream of being a occupational therapist!
Though her application is not confirm yet, but I believe eventually a place that is for her will be given to her. Hope through this tough period of application her faith will grow strongly.
Newspaper collection is over! though is tiring but it was fun. And felt so much love from the residents. especially when they offer "bang qua" to the rest of the volunteers and i received soft drinks and green tea. one resident even came out to help me pack the newspaper! some even use strings to tie before passing it to us. Some incident I wish to state here so that i wont forget.
cause i was the fundraising in charge for that day, I allocated weijun and xinyi to cover block 692B.
692B is the first block for that day because it is the furthest from yewtee mrt that we have to take the bus in order to reach there.
At the end of the day, around 4plus, a resident from 692B called me and complained that nobody collects the newspaper he left outside his house.
I apologized but did not promise him that we will collect bcas of the distance and the inconvience caused.
However, Weijun volunteered to walk back and said he will rush there asap.
I discouraged him because i know that he is super tired after collecting from 6 blocks, but he went on talking about the importance of being responsible as we have aldy promise the residents in that block that we will collect.
Though this is just a small action but I feel that as an in charge, i have a lot to learn from other volunteers as well. Despite being bad with direction, he insist on going alone.

But in the end I insisted xinyi to accompany him..
In the end, they rushed back at around 6 plus and the garang guni had left. :/

But it's ok, this fundraising event is not so much about the money but also about the bonding as well, the friends we made and things we can learn and pick up.
